SAN FRANCISCO BAKING COMPANY

$1.25 per cookie
$12 for a Dozen

Saw this place as my family and I were walking down Powell. We noticed all the different shortbread cookies, which looks like exactly the ones from Hawaii! We got excited and tried the free samples. I tired the regular shortbread and the chocolate dipped with white chocolate… YUM! Then we noticed the regular cookies and decided to get a dozen to share. I got the cookies and cream, peanut butter, and chocolate chip. I was not a huge fan and I love cookies. They are very oily and I kept having to wipe my fingers on a napkin after every bite. Here is what I thought of the 3 cookies I had:Peanut Butter:This one was not as bad as the other two, but it was super crunchy. I like my cookies soft with a slight crunch but this one was just hard. But, it did have a yummy peanuty taste. I just did not like the texture and how oily it was.Cookies and Cream:Didn’t really have the “oreo” taste I was looking for. It just tasted like I was biting off sugar (which I know a cookie is, but it should have some flavor). Just to note, I am not a fan of this flavor at Anthony’s Cookies either… maybe it’s just me?Chocolate Chip:I love me some plain chocolate chip cookies, but these were not satisfying at all. So greasy and didn’t really have much taste. It was not as hard as the peanut butter, but the outside of the cookie had a slight crunch to it. I did like the huge chocolate chips in it and how soft the middle was.I may not have enjoyed these cookies because I am a huge fan of Anthony’s Cookies, where peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies are WAY better! It may not have been fair that I was comparing them to Anthony’s Cookies, but overall I think you can get better tasting cookies at other places… even just getting a package of Toll House Cookies!
